The proposed regulations of the new Cannabis Act would permit the recreational sale to the public of dried cannabis, cannabis oil, fresh cannabis, cannabis plants, and cannabis seeds. The sale of edibles and concentrates to the public would be allowed within one year following the coming into force of the proposed Act.
While sales to customers will not happen until the summer of 2019, a number of companies are already completing the R&D work on edibles. dicentra has a great depth of experience in working with food regulations and the CFIA and with our experience in cannabis, we are well positioned to assist you in developing edibles. For example, dicentra’s HACCP for Cannabis Edibles Certification program will help your food business hit the ground running when edibles legalization arrives.
